See Juvenile Update below sent to Managers.

To all Juvenile Managers,

This email is to update you on some of the activities taking place at the South Board and out underage level recently.

There still remains a lot of players at training and matches that are not registered.

It is the responsibility of each manager to ensure that the players in your group are registered – please maintain vigilance.

The application form is on the club web site at http://www.twomilehousegaa.com/membership_registration_form.htm

U10, U11 & U12 players have been registered with the South Board – each manager should have this list and should verify that all players that are being played are on their list.

Please see additional members below that I registered today that were not included in the team listing that I sent you recently – please add the appropriate kids to your list of players.

Each manager should ensure that your text lists are up to date and you should as a minimum include all the players that are registered with our club that are associated with your team.

U13

  1. This is at Bord Na nOg level and it is still unsure if a separate competition will be taking place.
  2. However with the U14 Feile and the U12 matches taking place before the summer nothing will be taking place until after the summer holidays.

U12

  1. There is an U12 Blitz taking place on May 16th. I am chasing up details.
  2. The U12 league is starting on May 19th with a home game against Grange – see attached schedule for list of teams and match times.
I trust that Andrew will help Colm out with this team.
  3. The U12 training should be taking place on Thursdays – contact Colm for any further details or changes

U11

  1. Well done to our U11 team. Eventhough we were defeated last Wednesday we still have made it into the semi-final of the Div 4 league.
  2. This match will take place next Thur 14th in Athgarvan against Athgarvan for a place in the final against Ellistown.
  3. Further details from Andrew – I trust that we will all support our players at this game.

U10

  1. The grading of U10 is always an issue as there is very limited track record to grade these teams on.
  2. The U10 teams were graded at a meeting on Thur night and we will be in Division 2B for the first half of the season along with the following clubs
    1. Athgarvan, Ballykelly, Ballymore, Ellistown,
  1. There will be two home and two away matches
  2. Games will start on May 21st – the details of the first game e.g. team, venue, time, etc. still to be defined by South Board
  3. Games will be played each Thursday for 4 weeks.
  4. Considering that we have only one training session before the first match, I believe that it is imperative that the U10 and U9 train together from next Friday.
I trust that Kieran will help David with this team and that they will work together in preparation for the first match.
  5. Following these 4 matches, there is a mechanism that will identify which division (1-4) that the teams will play in for the second half of the season.
There will then be additional matches against new teams to be played.

U9

  1. U9 matches will not be taking place until September and after the summer holidays

U8

  1. Currently I am unaware of the details as I had to leave the grading meeting on Thur to attend the Feile Quiz fundraising.
  2. I hope to get details soon but you can expect games to take place in May. When I get more information – I will forward on.

Two Mile House Brief History.

Two Mile House GAA was founded in 1887 and was known then as Two Mile House St. Auxilius GAA club.  The club reached its first championship final in 1935, won the game on the field of play but lost the title to Raheens following an objection as one of the Two Mile House players had a pony in a gymkhana organised by a cricket club!

Down the years the club used a variety of pitches. In 1980 Five acres was acquired at Harristown Commons to establish a permanent home.

The Club caters for 2 adult teams and 7 juvenile teams.

The clubs most noted players in recent times to play for Kildare at Senior, Under 21, Junior and  Minor,  levels are Maurice Colbert, Niall Browne, Shane Darcy, John Goff, Tadgh O’Neill, Robert Kennedy, Christopher Burke, Peter Kelly, Andy Tynan, Aidan Casey and William Burke.

Our present Under 14 Feile squad won the County Senior Schools seven-a-side competition, the Senior School League and were beaten finalists in Div. 1 Under 13 County Final against Maynooth.
